SOLIDARITY OF UNHOUSED PEOPLE (SOUP)

SAC SOUP MISSION

Centering on unhoused peoples' struggle for housing, basic resources, freedom, dignity and self-determination, Sac SOUP follows their lead and acts in solidarity, offering humanitarian relief, ensuring healthcare access, and advocating for needed policy changes to ensure their health, safety and well-being through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, drawing on compassion, and promoting mutual aid, empowerment, education, and collaboration to break systemic poverty and eliminate the barriers our most vulnerable neighbors face. To create real change we work together in unity. Unhoused neighbors are residents too!

VISION

Sac SOUP envisions a Sacramento in which all community members enjoy safe, permanent housing, resources, power, and dignity, in which all of us act consciously to create and sustain a just, equitable and livable society.
